so why can we heckle a guy trying to hit a ball with a skinny bat but have to be quiet for a dude in shorts trying to hit the same size ball with a big ass racket?

tennis is the classiest feeling sport i've done. maybe cuz it was easy to feel pretty competent at it.

i've never felt classy golfing, and the other golfers never struck me as classy either - it seems to bring out lying, impatience, and cheating in people.

Classic tennis "whites" is the only acceptable attire on the courts.

I think yacht racing is probably very classy, but incredibly elitist. For me, the classiest READILY AVAILABLE sport would be golf. You still are expected to call your own penalties, clean up after yourself (fix divots/ball marks), and respect your fellow competitor and their equipment.

10 years ago, I would have said tennis, but the feral grunting and moaning and the ridiculous outfits took it off the list.
