I'm 55 and still bleeding almost every fucking month. After 43 years of this, I CAN'T WAIT for true menopause. So far my symptoms have been very mild and my skin is still really good (very few wrinkles) so I guess it's a case of being careful what you wish for.

Every time I think I'm done because I've missed a period, my youngest daughter shows up and screws me up with her super-duper female hormones/pheromones. I then get it within a week. I may have to...

I've avoided giving my mom a mooncup (I forced one on my sister for Christmas one year) because I was worried it would jump start her menopause. She's 49 now and still bleeding.

The correct term is hot flushes - you get flushed, not flashed. How come Americans get that one wrong all the time? (If you get flashed, someone is exposing themselves to you and you should probably run. Or not. ).

I am so fucking glad I am almost done with menopause - it made life hell for years and just about nothing I tried...

I really shouldn't complain so much, since hormonal stuff hasn't been much of a problem most of my life. Sure the periods were inconveniently messy, but I skated through my one pregnancy with not a smidge of morning sickness, rarely had cramps, and pms has always meant i get spacey and have the munchies (my son said my pms was just like being stoned). So I guess I'm due for some wimmin's trouble. Think I could make bandana headbands a new fashion? Or maybe those terry cloth...

Having not thought ahead in my family planning, I get to start being all perimenopausal while my daughter is heading into puberty.

Should be a fun decade for the boys in the household.

And, if one more dr tells me "that's normal at your age", someone is going to get hurt...

A woman I work with is going through the change and all of a sudden she goes beet red then you can literally see the sweat coming off of her. As soon as we see her going red we all grab a book and start fanning her.
