He also does live concerts all the time in 300-400 seat clubs. I went to one. It was jam-packed, even though the show was at 9:30 on a Tuesday night, and there was a somewhat hip Hollywood crowd. Constantine has been pretty smart about how he's parlayed his Idol exposure into a career. He's not now (nor will he probably ever be) a huge star, but he can make a good living doing what he wants to be doing. That's a hell of a lot better than most Idol runners-up can say...

I'm probably one of the very few but I was glad when he found this niche, the kind of thing I pictured him doing. Haven't seen the show or his competition and don't know if he deserves the nom though.

You're right. I haven't seen it. I have seen OTHER Broadway shows with bad kid actors ("Falsettos", "Into The Woods"...), though. And I have been told in at least one cast that another kid who shares the rotation with them is much better... It sounds like we may have three very young actors who take turns doing the role. Is that basically it? In that case, folks may just decide that any boy in the role of Billy Elliott deserves to win, or they can't be bothered to see all three versions, and the Billy Elliott people have lumped them altogether, so they all win.

No, I suspect Constantine will not be able to beat them. Billy Elliott is going to sweep. It got nominated for everything. RoA may not win anything at...

This was a weak year for lead actors in a musical and you gotta fill out the category, it was either Constantine or give a nom to Matt Cavanaugh who is giving a horrific performance as Tony in WSS.

The Billy boys pretty much have it all locked up, so its no biggie. I'll be hoping for J. Robert Spencer though.
