The annual income is just a number. It isn't really important.

The real difference between the haves and have nots is the balance between income and outflow.

Your income needs to exceed your outflow.

I'm retired. My income supports a lifestyle that is comfortable and satisfactory to me.
Am I rich? No.
Am I poor? No.
Am I ok? Yes

huh? Was it the fault of the Amoco people when BP bought them? Or the fault of the people who worked for the oil companies who had concessions in Venezuela when Chavez nationalized all the oil fields? Or the fault of the workers in factories whose owners decided that Mexican/Chinese/etc labor out of the US was cheaper, so they closed up shop here and moved their manufacturing plants to another country?
