The answer to the first one is D. Sodium requires use of the sodium-potassium pump which requires ATP to function, thus is active transport.

The second I'm assuming is B. C, D and E make no sense. RER is used to manufacture proteins, and saliva is used to break down carbs using enzymes. Enzymes are proteins, thus RER.

The last, I believe, is instinct. It's a protective measure to prevent them from eating something poisonous and dying. I haven't taken animal...
