I wonder if they know the order of callouts prior to the show. Obviously, they know which seat they are in, but it's not clear which seat will be the one they start with or which direction they will go. Sometimes, they even bounce around in the seating. Nick/Tati being seated next to Adam/Danny wasn't AUTOMATICALLY a death sentence until they announced two other people going through each week when those favorites' fates hadn't been announced...

I don't think it's just lack of suspense. I think this season, more than the last, is being carefully engineered by the producers and maybe the judges to create a particular top twelve. They've been very careful about who's had screen time and pimp them even when they suck. When singers that haven't had screen time hit it out of the park (Ricky Braddy) they call them bland or boring or something else is wrong with them. kris Allen was a fluke -- despite the judge's...

I agree that the results shows have been horribly managed compared to previous seasons. They should be announcing the most obvious winners early on (the pimped ones), then the less obvious (the women), then the genuinely suspenseful ones. Michael Vs. Tititana would have been exciting. And Nick/Norman should have been up there with Kris and Megan at the end last week. It's like somebody very high up has no idea what's going on, except for the obvious decision to save the drama queens...

The producers figure that people will turn the channel as soon as their favorite person is announced / sings....so they don't put the 3rd place person as the last singer. They put the person with the most total votes last so that the viewers hang on until their favorite sings.

If I were Nick or Tatiana, I wouldn't have put up with being sat next to the pimped one. I would have asked to have switched seats with someone else. I would rather be told that I did not make the final 12 early than be put up against the pimped one at the end of the hour for the show's masturbatory purposes. Hell, I am surprised that none of the Idol semifinalists and finalists have ever called the producers out on this.

Well if it's all for ratings, they fucked up. Thursday night's audience was 26% off of last year and only 20 million.
I guess "suspense" is for shit this season. Next week get ready for Nate and Lil Rounds. Ooh, I'm so excited. Who will make it through?

It's all another case of excessive pimping/manipulation. Danny and Adam both get extensive face time, pimp spot, AND results show sing out. Gee, I wonder who the producers want people to vote for...

If Lil Rounds gets the pimp spot next week, she will also get the last spot in the top nine just so she gets the sing out.

speaking of nathaniel, bravo to the producers in being smart by using the three of them (Tatiana, Nathaniel, Norman) as ratings ploys but at the same time using this format to guarentee those three won't be cracking the top 12 ensuring there isn't another sanjaya.
