You know what, I'm trying to place exactly what I didn't like about season 13, and it wasn't until I wrote it down in an organized fashion that it kinda hit me. I think they spent too long in places that were too similar. Salvador, Fortaleza, and Le Paz were good legs if you viewed them individually - but they kinda dragged on because they were all general "South American Cities." I'll wait till I actually see the first episode, so I can know how these people act on the race first, before judging them as clones.

The casting wasn't as much "off" in TAR13 as it was many of the more exciting teams were eliminated before that really got to shine. Still, I was ready for the divorcees to leave when they did, but I was disappointed when Terrance and Sarah got eliminated. But that kind of disappointment happens every season!

Which locations were "off", Sir Brian?

I do want to make something clear.

This is in NO way a knock on the people who are running the race. They're all great people. In fact, it's not a knock on the character of anyone.

I just think that, as entertainment, the casting and location was "off" somehow on Season 13.

You have to admit though, that your family pwning them in the jeep - mudtrack detour was an awesome one to watch. Yay for light kids being in the jeep instead of heavy adults!

The Aiellos were such great sports they were totally robbed.

brian - Why would you want to see people like yourselves on television? You already know what you yourself are like.

This is exactly why the show works and why it keeps winning awards. It doesn't have to go for stunt casting or create drama normal people do this on their own all the time when they travel. I have been very lucky to have met a lot of the former racers and they are all very normal people who just got a chance of a lifetime to be on...
