The list is a nice collection of cities that have either been missed (Louisville/Cincinatti and Jacksonville were on my informal list of cities they needed to try), have produced top 2 finalists (Phoenix, Salt Lake City) or which are due for a repeat (New York City). San Juan is the unexpected one. Hopefully the people they find there won't be as clueless as Zayra Alvarez on Rock Star: Supernova. One potential problem: what do they do with people that have gotten recording contracts with...

The judges are never at the first round which is to producers.

This article from a PR newspaper (in Spanish) says that the judges will not be present during the first round of auditions on 8/2. The judges will come when they film the contestants who survive the first round. AI producers apparently promised the same exposure that US cities get, so I take it that Puerto Rico auditions will get their own episode.

That's interesting that Puerto Rico is having AI auditions�because they also participate in Latin American Idol. The Puerto Rican diva from LAI2 was amazing and totally robbed. She came in 3rd place. How fitting.

I'm going to try out in San Francisco. I don't expect to make it as far as the first hurdle, but it should be an interesting experience. This will be the first time that Idol auditions have been held in Kansas City, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Jacksonville, Louisville, and PUERTO RICO! San Francisco and the New York metropolitan area have hosted before. I was hoping that Puerto Rico would play host to an Idol audition.

I'm going to be in three of those cities this summer... unfortunately I won't be in any of them during the date of auditions.

With Puerto Rico and Phoenix on the list, expect some hot latinos/latinas on next year's show. Yay. And as a Kentuckian, I'm excited to see what talent the area is hiding.
