I don't think anybody (nobody with any sense anyways) never wanted anything sci-fi in Lost, since it was fairly obvious from the get that it wasn't going to just be some regular old island and such. But when the creators said way back in the day (before we knew they lied about everything all the time) that it wasn't going to get too sci-fi, some people took that to mean exactly what it means.

I'm loving Season 5! The writers give Lost viewers credit by giving us something intelligent to watch and talk about. The show makes its viewers ask intelligent questions on religion, physics, and existentialism. Compare it to Heroes, which basically made its cast very dumb. Heroes also wants its viewers play dumb by asking them to forego obvious plotholes.

I didn't mean that Kelvin was a time traveller. I meant that maybe like when Locke invited Richard to his birth, Kelvin was told by someone to teach Sayid how to torture people because they know it's already happened.

I've read all the posts and some of the people here have no deduction ability.

From season 2 we started getting hints that not only it's not a coincidence that the losties crashed on the island but that it was known years before (Kelvin said to Sayid he will need to have "skills" to get information from someone in the future), and it's much more entertaining and reasonable (as much as LOST can be) that it's because of time travel than the other theories...

Maybe the show had too many twists in season 1, so since the viewing public was expecting twists they stopped doing them.

Although, I did enjoy The Man from Tallahassee, which was universally panned.

Well, I doubt Lost is gaining viewers, but my wife did imply she was ready to give up on the show and make it one I could watch on my own time, rather than together with her. She cut out halfway on Jughead, and I saved the rest, just in case she wants to give the show another chance.
