It's too bad that I didn't know "Survivor" was being filmed in Brazil. I was living in São Paulo November and December of last year.

I was a bit confused that they have Iguazu Falls in the intro. Iguazu is no where near Tocantins state.

Brad was pretty much out in his bio, if I recall. And we all knew J.P. had worked at a gay bar (though that doesn't necessarily mean one is gay, but it's not like he was a closet case). We don't know yet if Spencer will be out on the show. It could just be that his orientation will be listed in his bio and there won't be any reference to it on air (for that matter, there wasn't with Chet).

You are right, I was actually meaning to qualify my statement with 'in recent seasons' And JP and Brad do not count as JP was not out, and Brad was not out on the show.

I was surprised to find the full pre-show interviews, in high def, on my PVR here in Canada. A bit more than I have seen on youtube.. One big thing that stood out was Joe is a big jesus freak, didn't realize that from the mini clips.
Sydney is really stunning, and will move forward because she is beautiful. Sad, but true.

The ways of Canadian television are indeed mysterious.

Does being "stunning", rather than just above average...

Rafe ended up as an immunity whore who completely stepped outside any perceptions of being the "token gay", whereas Spencer has perpetual gay-voice.

I don't think Brad and J.P. were very stereotypical. J.P. was a professional athlete and Brad, though he had a stereotypical job, seemed pretty strong in challenges. But yes, it's good to see a gay superfan who doesn't fall into a Todd or Rafe stereotype (nothing against those two, of course). Spencer's an athlete and he seems like he'll be strong. I think he'll just have to learn to keep his mouth shut.

Spencer is way more hyper than I originally thought, Sandy is infinitely funny and annoying, and Erinn moves to the top of my pre-show favs.
