My 1st stepmother (dad married her 4 different times) was from a very racist family. Her brother and father were part of the KKK during the 70's and 80's. Her brother was found beat to death in a ditch.

My grandmother's grandfather was murdered (thrown down an elevator shaft, actually) because he refused to join a labor union.

My aunt met and married some Iranian guy within a year. The marriage was a complete failure because of culture clash (and other things), but the marriage was annulled after two months.
