What the hell else was Terry supposed to do? It was made very clear to him the first time he didn't have immunity, he would be gone, or at least forced to play the idol.

No shit, but winning immunity on its own is not a strategy. Using it to influence other players' votes could make it a tool, but the concept of winning challenges does not make you a player.
