Well, the joke with Mary was that she made absolutely no sense as a boot target. The story was about the people booting Mary, not Mary being booted. (Part of what made China's pre-merge so good was that there was a reason for every pre-merge boot.)

i will go ahead and throw this in. micronesia - the first episode should have been 90 minutes. ESPECIALLY with the favorites losing the first challenge. there was NO way to know who ANY of the fans were. i really believe they thought the favorites would win and as a result we would learn about the fans through pre tribal and tribal interactions. i begged upon leaving the game to make the premiere on numerous occasions. i really felt that was a major reason pearl islands had the success it...
