I thought for a minute that this thread was about how the monastery was sexy in that they lit a bunch of candles, put on some chanting-monk music and poured some wine for the ladies. Then I read it was sexist, not sexiEst.

Um, it may seem sexist to you, but at least respect the religious differences of other cultures. I find it horrible to diss another religion just because you disagree with the women...

As far as I know, nothing in our constitution protects a U.S. citizen against oppressive or unfair traditions imposed by a private monastery (I'm assuming it was not government-owned or operated) in a foreign country. And since TAR is not a government-owned show, they have the right to force these folks to do anything they want as a condition...

That isn't sexist. It's from the old testament belief that woman are to wear prayer coverings. The church is just following the OT beliefs.

I would have no problem draping a simple veil over my head if I were in a country that required it. It's simple respect. And I thought Leslie on Survivor China was very disrespectful. I'm quite sure Budhism was none of the Survivors' religion, yet they all went through the ceremony without issue.

Whether it be religion or laws, you respect where you are or don't go. Just like I would never move to another country and say, Screw your rules and laws. I'm going...

The female racers should have been so offended by those sexist. I guess women aren't allowed to publicly show themselves to men in whatever religion that is, so they had to wear those ridiculous veils because, you know, women are inferior and all.
