Considering 4-dimensional space, you can mathematically set up your coordinates so that any arbitrary point is "the center" of the universe. Which is just another way of saying, there isn't one.

You can't really make it out in this cap, but across the back of the ship is "Black Rock". It's just the name of the ship.

I think it's all a function of what the island desires. It might manipulate, control, limit, and reach out for what it wants to be on the island when it moves.

Remember, there's an "unlimited" energy source here that can manipulate or contort space time in any way it chooses (that's conjecture). You might be assuming that the island appears as a singularity and then spherically grows to normal size in its new space-time location. Why couldn't it reform...

I really don't see how the Island would appear under the ship. The Island would be underwater and then raise up again? That's not what's happening now.

And if some force magically lifts whatever happens to be in the location just a split second before the Island appears, heaving it into the air to fall down upon the Island when it pops in, you'd also think a lot of water would come along for the ride. I know it rains suddenly on the Island, but this would just be a...

I would imagine this has surfaced already but I only ran across it today. SOme info about the history of the ancient real "Black Rock" on Maui near the Sheraton Inn.

If the island only moves in time, maybe it reappears in the exact same place in the universe, but not in the world. Thus, when it reappears it is placed back on the earth but after the earth has been revolving and rotating, and therefore it appears to have moved in space, but really it's only the earth that has moved. This might explain the plane crash out of Nigeria.
