We've had ours for a year now. Works just fine on carpet and flat surfaces. It has a little side brush dealie that gets into corners and crannies and sweeps the dirt into the robot's path. The program it runs on is pretty thorough - I've never seen the thing miss a spot. Great for maintenance cleaning.

I have a roomba and I love it. I turn it on before I go to bed and before I leave the house (provided it's charged). It gets most of the downstairs in that time. It doesn't get stuck here unless it locks itself in the bathroom or I leave cords out. It cleans under the couches and tables.

It doesn't do as good a job as a real vaccum, but I don't have to do anything but push the button. If you're someone that vaccums daily then you wouldn't like it. If...

I have 4 of them. The Scooba is amazing, I hate cleaning the tile floors myself.

Yeah I agree, the bump I make with my own vaccum is way worse than this thing. Plus, my son does about 10 times more damage on a daily basis than my Roomba - not to mention he's generally the cause of the mess...

With all the bumping into furniture and walls it has to do some damage over time.

I have the cheap one ($150) but I wish I spent more and got the one that you can schedule to run when you arent home. Its a bit loud and inconvenient to have it bumping against your feet while you are at home watching TV.

About $150-$500 here, depending on how fancy a model you get. Ours was about $400 - therefore it has a bunch of cool features. Too bad I generally just hit the "clean" button

It doesn't. It basically goes in a straight line until it hits something. It criss-crosses a lot. It also is smart enough not to go down stairs

Exactly. In two months I'll have two kids under 2. Its either the Roomba or no vaccuming at all.

You do have to empty it after every use, but it does seem to pick up lots of crap....
