I have two couple friends that do this. The wife insists on a minimum amount of nights per week where they do couple stuff and whenever she's watching tv, he has to watch with her. He can only play WOW a certain amount of hours per week. Same goes with extra curricular activities. I could go on. One of my friends has to get his wife's opinion on everything before he can make a decision. The wives think that they are spending quality time with their husbands but fail to realize that...

My guy will watch as much DWTS as he feels like watching and then does his own thing. I always try to give Dave an out so I don't have to watch gory movies with him. Tit for tat.

And yeah on the shopping thing. I hate doing it, so why should I put him through the chore of it as well? I had to emergency shop once when we went out of town and I forgot my dress for an event. I just had him walk/circle the store until I was done picking out an outfit and shoes.

The only time I have ever made my ex's watch shows with me in the past are ones that creep me out (ex. America's Most Wanted). I get scared and don't want to watch them alone, but I still love the show.

I don't watch DWTS but if I did, I would make Mr. Pink watch. He doesn't watch TAR or Survivor.... he does watch Lost w/me though. That is about the only thing we watch together... aside from semi-scary movies. I can't watch anything too creepy.

It seems like every guy I know complains about this, so here I go: what's the point of forcing your male SO to watch Dancing with the Stars or similar shit? It can't be fun, watching it with an unwilling partner. So why do chicks do this? Send him in the other room with a video game and a back issue of Cherry, or whatever.

I think DWTS may be setting the feminist cause back by twenty years or so.
