Oh heck yeah that is far. I don't think it was easy to find at all. I do think Dan could've figured it out though because it doesn't seem as hard as idol finding in Micronesia. He was probably really tried though

I mean, yea i dont disagree with them making it really hard to find, but i dont think Dan should be faulted for not finding it, i wouldntve thought to look behind the forest either.

Here is the clip of where the helicopter shot aims at the crater starting from the lake.

Even I wouldn't walk that damn far. But then again the producers made the contestants in S16 swim from island to island to look for the idol.

Just rewatched and it's way the hell far away, it's behind the forest... no way I wouldve thought to go behind a forest to find a crater... Infact when they pan across they show 2 craters, they stop over one and then pan to the next big one behind the trees.

CG, think you could maybe get a small clip or some caps of that for us? If not it's cool.

I think the idol's a littler too far from the lake but it's not like the contestants have anything else to do while in exile. But I have to agree it was extremely stupid to look in the lake. He must have been suffering from some heavy starvation/dehydration and couldn't think straight. But most likely he was just being dumb.

From the pan-over shot it looked like it was behind a forest, or a line of trees... maybe that was just me or the angle that they panned over... I'll have to rewatch.

To be fair, the clue said you could physically see the idol's location from where he was, and that sand pit was fucking nowhere near his line of sight.

Anyone else wonder this about Exile?

Say you go to Exile and somehow get enough clues to go know where it is, but you can't go look for it because of rain or what have you. Now say you get Exiled again, can you choose Luxury and still go look for the idol? Or are you somehow banned from looking.

Thoughts? Opinions? Flames?
