Exactly why is it that Americans tell each other "don't drink the water" when they go to certain foreign nations? The locals drink the water all the time, don't they? Is our water so unbelievably awesome that we can't handle the substandard stuff? I went to India last year. Bring lots of Purell, Wet Ones and toilet paper. Don't eat street food. Drink only bottled water (check the seals on the caps to make sure they were refilled by a street vendor). Get a script for Cipro, fill it and bring it along with some Immodium.
