I've never had a flu vaccine and never will. They build them based on last year's flu, which then mutates into this year's flu and limits the efficacy of the vaccine. My kid did have one when he was little but I'll probably ixnay the lufay accinevay from now on.

It is recommended to get a flu shot if you have an infant in your house. I got one the year my daughter was born and had the worst flu season of my life -- I will NEVER get a flu shot again.

flu shots is the same country wide, but it's usually different from year to year as they perform a guessing game a year ahead of time to see what sstrains they sould vaccinate against

We had a nurse here in Chicagoland that felt vaccines were wrong so she gave kids shots of saline instead. Whole crapload of kids had to go and get tested to see if they'd gotten the real stuff or the saline.

ALL vaccines are subject to strict guidelines and testing by the CDC. Doesn't matter what state you get it in.

Except Texas. Then I think it's just warmed-up bull semen or summat.

I had the Gardasil thing done about a year ago when I figured that my work insurance covered it. Without insurance, it's about $170 per shot at three shots needed.

Supposedly it's not as effective if you've already been sexed up, but whatevs, my VAJAYJAY is clean.

The mumps outbreak in Vancouver is a hoot! So many closet hippie freaks coming out of the woodwork admitting they didn't vaccinate their kids. It started in a religious community in the boonies...

Last year in high school they were doing the meningitis vaccine. Normally you have to get your guardians to sign off on that kinda shit but we were allowed to decide on our own if we wanted it.

You know what worries 18 year olds more than the acute possibility of getting autism or whatever the side effect is? Brain swelling.

Pretty much everyone chose to get the shot. Team Vaccine!

All five of us children came down with the chicken pox on a family roadtrip to the Grand Canyon -- I'm certain my father entertained the idea of abandoning us in some small town in Arizona.

When I was little, my sister got the chicken pox and my mom FORCED me to drink after her and stuff, so I would get them too and get it over with. There is a picture of me SMILING in my nightie with chicken pox all over. It's a surprise that I'm a semi-functioning adult.

Yesterday I was treated to a delightful lecture by a tinfoil-hatted Mommy who was telling me how the US government and Big Pharma are trying to kill her little snowflakes by making them get vaccinations. But she stood up to the MAN, and now her icky kids are running around the playground spreading their vermin far and wide.

It's definitely a good way to get out of getting birthday party invites though. I was recoiling from her spawn.
