Why we drive on a certain side of the road is my favorite piece of trivia, cuz it's something no one really knows and it makes me feel all smarty.

Centuries ago when the only way to get places was on foot or horseback, people needed weapons for protection against robbers and such. So if you're meeting someone coming at you on the road, you'd want them to be on the side of your weapon. For most people that was their right hand, so you'd want traffic coming at you...

I was trying to figure the same thing on the mean streets of New Zealand. As far as I could tell, there wasn't any one correct side of the sidewalk to walk down. Everyone seemed to walk down the right side of the hallway though.

Hey! "sense" made me think of "cents". I think our monetary system is metric, yeah? 100 cents = 1 dollar. Or, to be metric, would that have to be "1 decacent" or "100 decidollars"?

dumb presidents, long ass oils for war, rich/poor divides, everyone driving automatic trnasmission, a lot of super fat people and ignorance to anything happening outside the country are pretty bad and all... but really, the whole inch/foot/ounce/pound crap does not make any sense.
