Not exactly a "big pile of rubble" but after nearly 7 years you would think it would further along than this.

The big sign they had up there when I was there in June said it would be completed in 2012.

The original World Trade Center were awful, unsightly buildings. Most New Yorkers didn't like them. You can't rebuild the old ones.

The sad thing is that they actually had a competition for the design of the site and this was really one of the better ones. Some of them flat out sucked. This is actually at least the third or 4th remodel to the original design. The first was much nicer but they have been forcing the architect to change it. I know he wasn't too happy with the last version so I hope...
