We just looked at that thing last weekend at Ikea. It's a piece of crap! It's just the cushion and back piece connected together that pulls out and lays out the 2 foam pieces on the floor for the "sofa bed". The part where you put your head is not connected to the rest and is hard as a rock. Um.. no. Run away from that thing.

We did get another couch there, but it was more like $375-400 with the 20% off sale they had last weekend. It was the Beddinge Ressmo.

I had that exact couch in my studio and LOVED it. It was actually surprisingly comfy to me. I preferred it to my bed.

That being said, I can set up a tent on rocks and sleep fine too and never have back pain, so I may not be the best judge since I can sleep basically anywhere

One time I went to IKEA when one of my legs was hurting me a little bit and I had to walk the entire store to get out. It was miles. The bastards make you walk past everything. It was up, down, and sideways. I thought I was going to pass out. I became so irritated and tired. It didn't seem to end. When I finally got to the end where hundreds of people were purchasing their crap I vowed to never go to that jungle again.

I once helped someone set up their bed or dresser or some such IKEA crap and it was such crap quality crap that I've never even considered getting any of their crap.

Tres, if you aren't concerned about the look of your living room, maybe put a single bed in there for the dogs. After considering two pricey dog beds for my dogs, I just went with a single bed for them. It's great to lay in the bed with the dogs sometimes to watch DVDs.

Many years ago I slept on a friend's Ikea futon and had back pain for days after.

I went to Ikea wwhen it first opened -- I really did not understand the appeal. I bought 8 of the little wooden artist figures and put them on the bookshelves in the living room because they amuse me.
