Sleepaway camp is still on my to see list on account of the rave reviews it's gotten here.

So what was the reason that Jason's mother starting bumping everybody off again? Were the counselors picking on him or something? It's been years since I saw it.

Well, the first one was a hit for whatever reason and inspired a lot of early 80's crap horror flicks about kids at camp, like The Burning, Madman, and Sleepaway Camp.

From the Wiki article, they're folding parts of the first 3 films into this ~~remake~~ reboot. Oh, and Jason's victim side is played up so we're sure to root for him. He's also smart, like Rambo ().

I don't mind the reboot idea, except I'd have waited until the 13th film of the series to do it.

The female characters will probably dyke out in the remake (as opposed to the repressed, heterosexual world-view imposed on us by the original), and I think we can all get behind that particular development.
