It is not just about the taste and goodness of meat. Sometimes it is satisfying to grab a big turkey leg or some ribs and feel the sensation of tearing flesh from bone.

In a way, I am a vegetarian.

It's just that some of the vegetables I eat have been metabolized into flesh by an animal before I eat them.

It's a personal choice we make. Nothing wrong one way or the other.

If I had made the transition slower, maybe I'd be missing the old days less.

Like stop eating the big ones altogether, like cows and pigs, but eat chicken and fish. Then phase out chicken, and eat fish. Then give up fish, and go strictly vegetarian.

So why did you become a vegetarian?

Was it health reasons, love of animals, other?

I became a vegetarian for ethical reasons a month ago, after reading about "animal farming" and how these animals are treated like objects, to increase production and maximize profits. As if they had no feelings.

I even got a subscription to "Vegetarian Times" magazine. It has great vegetarian recipes.
