1995, Prodigy chat rooms- flirting and chatting until all hours of the morning whilst sipping brandy. Yep- totally addicted from the get-go. I'd go to work the next morning still buzzed. From the brandy and the fun.
Then finding Sucks during the first season of Survivor was like graduating from pot to herion overnight.

I was my teacher's favourite because in grade 5 I had my own website. It mostly consisted of links to my most favouritest things on the internet!

I don't even remember where I first hung out when I first got the internet as an adult in about 99, but I remember when I was in high school in the mid 80's some philanthropist had donated a whole room full of IBM pc's and pc juniors to my school and we had one of those old modems that you put the telephone reciever in the cradle of the modem and I remember playing some old version of hitchhikers guide to the galaxy on it. We didn't have a printer for the computer back then...

AOL chatrooms!!!

In 95 or 96 I had this beast of a Toshiba laptop... it was simply "pentium" and was heavy as hell. I liked to hang out in the AOL Theatre Chat with the regular crew and make fun of all the teenagers who would pop in with some form of "Eponine" as their username.

For a while I had Worldspy, which was completely free. I could even pwn n00bs in Ultima Online with my free dialup connection, it was so good.

Back when the internet was all shiny and new where did you hang out all the time?

I didn't get the internet for home use until 1999, and then all I pretty much did was hang out at the Yahoo Poker room lounge. Playing poker and pwning n00bs, way back then.
