I um... really enjoyed these here Emmys.

The host idea worked for me - I found it amusing, I'm glad Tina Fey kicked the World's ass, Probst won the award he has deserved for years, and Stewart/Colbert got ample air time... good times all around.

Small audience for Primetime Emmys, TV's big night

Sunday's Emmy Awards had one of its smallest audiences ever.

It seemed somehow appropriate for an awards show that showered honors upon "Mad Men" and "30 Rock," series with critical acclaim and lousy ratings.

I rather enjoyed Laura Linney's remark about community organizers being the the foundation of this country. (I assume it was a jab at Palin, who, at the Rep Convention, declared that "Community Organizer" - aka Obama's first job - isn't a real job.)

Cranston winning was awesome. I always thought he was overlooked as Hal as more often than not, he made that show for me.

Emmy noms come out on July 16, but word of the "semifinalists" (the 10 or so in each category after prelim voting) should start leaking out by the end of the month. LOL, Page 4 thinks it scooped by announcing that Britney Spears ("How I Met Your Mother") and the less anorexic Olsen twin ("Weeds") were close to nomination for Guest Actress, when in fact they're just among the 40-something from which the nominees will come.
