I think with the open calls, the videos will get to where they need to go instead of that weed out place on Ocean Park Boulevard.

For some reason, they didn't do an open call in Louisiana this time.

I believe the open casting calls are a guarantee your video will at least get looked at. After all you are on a tape with hundreds of others...they will be viewing them, even if they only watch the first 5 seconds of your video. Colleen was chosen at an open casting!!! Open castings are 2 min videos, single VHS that you make yourself can be up to 3 mins. I would kind of think regardless of how long it is...you HAVE to do something great in the first 10 secs or so before they pop out your...

Well judging from what I am reading about Turnout looks like your Audition will get a better chance of being seen if they actually look at them anymore. Not many get picked from application process. More are recruited than picked from applications. Get to know someone thats why they ask on the application the organizations they are looking for are SAG other acting Unions Knowing other contestants helps ask the Quitter Chet in his quitters thread.

I applied today in Harrisburg. It wasn't crowded at all and it took about 45 minutes to get through the line. I was hungover from the DMB concert last night and tired so I'm sure I rambled a little bit in my statement but I kept it short and was confident in what I said. After I gave my statement, an unofficial looking CBS person asked me some follow-up questions about where I went to school. There were a lot of older (45+) people there and a lot of youngins (18-22). One thing I noticed on utube looking at survivor tapes is that if its not interesting I am not gonna look very long and even if its interesting its boring after 2 min. Some people ramble aimlessly saying same thing over and over again.

I went today nice to see younger people applying so you got 18 yr olds and 60 year old people showing up together. They had free BBQ great ribs. Was kind of cool this time they were not assholes like last time. Very nice a guy and two hot girls were in the room. Did better than usual and i got a Buff and my picture taken.

yeah i got there at about 20 minutes before the call was scheduled to occur. i figured i'd be really late, and have to stand in a line of 300+ people. but when i got there, people were just standing around, waiting to get numbers. i don't want to reveal exactly where i was--just b/c of possible casting reasons, idk. but you could probably guess if you look at the old list of casting calls. i was happy though--i think i had one of the better auditions. what about anyone else? were...

i went to one i stood out, bc there were only like 40 ppl auditioning plus they were all drunken biker-types i also sent in a tape. hopefully it works out! and there were definitely no casting executives there (unless they were disguised)

Camera man said that to me once and I locked up like a safe. I was pissed. But what the hell. You only live once. At my age you are just happy if you don't lock up permanently. Practice in front of mirror or other people. So you look and feel natural. They always say be yourself. If you have a camera play it back on your tv see if you like it,

Can you tell who they are? Not unless you know them... I had a guy come up and shove a recorder in my face and ask me questions. Said he was with a radio station. I was considering going to an open casting call tomorrow, but am wondering if it's better to just apply normally. Is it worth it or more beneficial to apply at an open casting call?
