I considered myself a casual fan but I always like the strategy and competitive part. I think it depends from person to person

^Juvinile or not, they were entertaining and not monsterously offensive. I think someone like Twatwaffle is more of a blight on our favorite show then Mariano or lazy. I thought I would laugh at Lexs ASS dvd commentary, but it merely disgusted me

I agree that the casual viewers tend to root for alpha males and dismiss strategic gameplay over athletic gameplay. Case in point, the other type pof contestants they like are the oddballs who have no strategy whatsoever (Rupert, Denise etc.) They also like people who have high morals and won't comprimize their beliefs to play the game. But then you go to Sucks and it's completly the other way around. Any guy who is the least bit athletic gets shat on and people will praise the...

All of the casual fans I watch with thought Amanda was going to win, hated that Parvati won and didn't know how she won, and thought Cirie was sneaky and a good player (they didn't mention liking her tho).

I don't have a problem with people who like the physical element, because so do I, but I don't appreciate those who think its the only element. I have some friends who are casual fans, they thought Amanda was gonna win too. They still think Survivor is just a physical game, which is sad, because some of them are longtime viewers. Sucks is such a small minority, but a lot of the time I'm affected by the opinions in here and become sort of elitist to people who don't share the thoughts of Sucks, haha.

I was always a fan; but after Australia, I became so' busy 'that I did not watch the other seasons for several years (through Vanatu) as i could not watch the show consistently. I meant in general, not the challenge winners. Most people I know think the challenges are the best part of the episodes.

Only up to a point. James won ZERO indidivual ICs in 2 season, Booby Jon got his ass handed to him over and over, yet they are loved by casual fans. On the other hand, Jenna M won FOUR ICs in Amazon, Eliza rocks the challenges, but they are less popular.

Casual fans I know were rooting for Amanda and Erik this season and HATE Cirie.

Typically the casual fans root for challenge whores- Ozzy, Terry, etc. Terry in particular was a hero with my coworkers who watch. Surprisingly, I don't recall any of the casual fans I know commenting on James at all other than to call him dumb during China after he was voted off.

This is a throwaway term but we have to admit that Sucks is a small minority. My experiance with other Survivor fans is limited(oh sure,I know people who watch it, but I've never gotten around to asking there thoughts on the show,etc).This thread is basically a way for me to understand how the "casual fans" mind works. Anyone who knows people who watch the show on/off,could you explain how they see the show? I started the thread because reading over various Survivor discussion...
