I like to be greeted when I walk into certain places, like the bank. That means they acknowledge that I'm there and I'll get quicker service.

Greeters I can give or take, it's not hard to give a quick hello and a nod. What I can't stand are people who stop you on your way out and demand to see a receipt. I was just in the line you jerks, didn't you see me paying for this shit? It's offensive.

when my dad first retired. as a running joke for birthdays or christmas we would give him applications to walmart as a greeter.

it's funny if you know my dad. he's not the greeter type.

I find the sales people in stores way more irritating with their "can I help you" and then when I say no, they keep lurking about.

It used to be you would only see them at Wal-mart - a place I never shop. But now, they're starting to pop up everywhere.
