After you get them on, the adjustments aren't bad at all IMO. I ate everything I wasn't supposed to and nothing happened to me. I mean fo'realz, who is going to give up popcorn?

As I enter my right age as adult, I never have a braces in my teeth but it is clean and looking good. I took the last dentist three years ago to check my teeth.

I feel your pain I've had braces from when I was 12 until my last year of high school. I'm still undergoing orthodontic treatment to slim down my huge-ass teeth, so I have to wear an uncomfortable retainer for at least another year. It hurts like hell every time I get them tightened, but I guess I'm lucky since my mom is doing it for me.

Yeah, mine were fine the past few weeks too. I guess I started with and 18 wire and now I have a 20 on. I also went with light blue bands on my lower brackets this time. My teeth are starting to get sore, or tender as they like to say.

and eek, getting a tooth pulled doesn't sound like any fun.

gluck ustra! i'm getting them tightened next week - tighten + extracting some back toof so the front ones have room to move back and straighten up. ouch .

they haven't been hurting me for the past few weeks at all, except for the rare wax-applying for some irritation. plus i'm really happy with the results so far (which i can see immediately since the braces are at the backside) - they already...

Ustra... I feel your pain... I had braces in highschool and remember the intense pain when I first got them installed. Every tooth in my mouth was loose for the first 48 hours...

My tip for you... buy a waterpik and stay the hell away from corn on the cob...

Oh yeah...I lost only one bracket over my two year period of hell. They overhype alot of stuff.

Ah yes...pain killers. Unfortunately they don't completely get rid of the pain. Man...how many days of suffering did I go through to get straight...

Popcorn and any other kind of corn is a bitch with braces.

No soda? Thats fucked. They never singled that out, instead only told me no stuff with lots of dye...I said fuck that, and ate pretty much whatever I wanted.

I haven't eaten yet (been 8 hours since i had 'em) - only liquids so far.

Putting them on was PAINFUL - those huge cheek-enlarger things (kinda like a vagina opening clamp but for cheeks so the mouth is all wide open) was soooooooooo uncomfortable. The good thing ofcourse is that while talking/smiling etc no metal shows at all.

It doesn't really hurt actually, except for one specific point where the wire is poking my tongue. I think i'll just keep that...

How was getting them put on? Are your eating? Can you even sleep very well, or are you always trying to place your tongue where it isn't screaming in pain?
