Micronesia hands down. A better cast all around and I love the fact that it's the first time since... Pearl Islands I believe, that the alliances are not determined by original tribal division. The girls were from different tribes and yet they united to defeat a common enemy (in a way that Fairplay recruited people from Morgan to oust Rupert). China was fun, but not great.

Definetely does make up for the last TV season. These two seasons have restored my interest in Survivor which was dwindling after Fiji. Gabon looks good as well. Great location by the looks of it.

ZL is right- either way you look at it, this television season for Survivor was perfect. Back-to-back solid seasons. Let's hope Gabon makes it three in a row.

China = the perfect season from a character perspective (though many would disagree)
Micronesia = the perfect season from a gameplay perspective

Both were exactly what Survivor needed after the horrible slump of CI/Fiji. <3

Micronesia may have the stronger/weaker (depending on your perspective) gameplay than China, but gameplay is the icing on the cake to the characters, and that's where China completely trounces this season.

I think you can tell which fans out there (not just on Sucks) have seen the pre-ASS seasons and who haven't. If you got into Survivor after ASS, then Micronesia was a dream come true. If you've been a fan since the beginning, China...

I'll have to digest this season and see how I feel about it in a few weeks, hard to rank seasons when one is so fresh in my mind and others are not. This year totally made up for last year though.

I think both were excellent seasons and definitely were the best post-ASS seasons, although I didn't think Vanuatu and Palau were that awful.

I'd have to give a slight edge to Micronesia though. For some reason it just seemed more exciting toward the end.

^I disagree.The editing should try to intergrate the stratagy within the story of the castaways.I think Micronesia did this and China was actually more stratagy driven

It's hard. I think China had a better cast, which made the slower strategic episodes great, and I really loved the setting. I think China was just a character driven story. Micronesia obviously wasn't, it was a hardcore intense strategy season with little character development. I think the editors did a really great job with what they were given to work with. China could never work as Micronesia and Micronesia couldn't be told the same way China was. See Fiji for a character...

I still prefer China over Micronesia because I just fell absolutely in love with the cast. I can name all 16 players off the top of my head, and I can't really say that for any other season.

Micronesia was still hella good though.

What worries me is Probst saying in the EW.com video this week that situations like Jonathan/Kathleen/James are why they bring in 18 or 20. Which of course is failing to point out that only twice have contestants left outside of TC in 16-contestant seasons and both times it made for fantastic episodes.

China's endgame was pretty dull as soon...

Everyone was saying before Micronesia that nothing would top China as the best post-ASS season, but Micronesia's so over-the-top with its delicious episodes I already forgot what happened in China.

Which do you prefer???
