That's what I love about Kelly and as a singer I admire in her. She can sing ANYTHING.. R&B, pop, rock, country, soul, ballads, broadway, latin, classica., etc, etc - i mean u name it & she can sing it. Not only can she sing it, but she sings it stylistically correct within that specific genre of music. For example, when she sang "Ave Maria" you didn't hear "Rock Kelly"

It's amazing how Kelly not only held her own with En Vogue (probably one of the BEST girl singing groups ever) but seemed to blend in seamlessly with them.

That's one of the coolest performances IMO because I loved EnVogue as a teenager and esp loved that song! Kelly and the AI girls performed that on tour too so I bet that was a real hoot for her too!

Love the grit in Kelly's "Rock" voice & her growls, esp. when she screams from her gut.

I am anxious to see what kind of album she makes. It is so exciting to know that Ryan Tedder says it is her best one yet! I really hope she makes a country album one day. I mean she already has so much support from some big names in country music!

I completely agree Kunron... I don't think Kelly ever cared about being the most famous or most successful artist around. I think all Kelly cares about is making music that she believes in. It sounds so cliche to say that but every interview I've ever seen of her, since the beginning has said the same thing. She's never waivered from that stance. I agree Kunron. If Kelly just wanted to be a "star" she would have taken the record deal she was offered before AI. God is definitely working in Kelly's life & career. I also admire that she has such a strong faith. She will be around for ages & is constantly evolving. I am really looking forward to what her 4th album will be like. She is a true force to be reckoned with.

Thanks for the great interview. No doubt in my mind Kelly Clarkson fundamentally knows who she is as a person/songwriter/singer and that she will continue to resist anyone who tries to change her or derail her plans. From day one, when she first appeared on AI, Kelly already knew what kind of singer & songwriter she was and wanted to become. I think her main goal ever since was to establish herself as that kind of an artist, which is probably why she's always fought so hard for her...

That's a pretty successful flop. That song has managed to outsell many other countless songs that people considered "hits". It's even sold more than Walk Away, Breakaway and is slightly behind Hazel Eyes.

that would be nice MPC! and it's not impossible that's for sure! I'm always surprised when I see the actual numbers for NA considering how the media claim it was a flop. How exactly does a flop sell that close to a million copies?

I think I read she recorded that with garage band software and they liked the "grittier" feel of it. I personally don't think Chivas works as a "studio" cut. That song is one you'd get up and sing in a bar while out with your friends. It doesn't require perfect or even pretty vocals.

The My December era is done and over with so it's time to start fresh. Kelly has said her 4th album will be out by the 4th Quarter of 2008 and four unreleased songs recently leaked garnering serious media attention in the process.
