I actually thought it was a great moment in the show - for the first time I actually felt for Ben.

What an absolutely awesome job Michael Emerson did with that scene.

She was just an innocent 16 year old girl.

Even though Alex isn't a main character on the show, her death can be considered one of the more tragic ones. This is cruel and sad to watch at the same time. She definitely didn't deserve to die in such a cold blooded manner. But the whole story plot and Ben's character development is more important, I...

This is what happens when new characters come on the show, old ones go out the door. HAd The boaties been a Niki/Paolo, Alex/Karl/Danielle would still be alive. And considering how pointless Lewis and Faraday have become this was pretty frustrating. What point are Lewis and Faraday now? Miles and Frank are the only entertaining worth watching boaties.

I had basically the same reaction to Alex's death as I had to Eko's. In essence, "Oh, come ON! That's all we get of him/her?!" Certainly the most cold-blooded moment the show has seen yet.

We'll miss you Alex. You supplied us with some mystery way back in the day when we all assumed you were a boy, and immense cuteness when you finally showed your face.

I kind of liked the kid. She had this wide-eyed innocent quality, which I guess is exactly what they wanted so that when she died, it felt like they were killin' a baby. So now we're supposed to root for Ben to avenge her? But I LIKE Penny, dammit!

What a terrible life she had but for a few sweet moments of happiness with Carl.

At least she met her Mom.

Too bad some of her last words she heard were from Ben saying "She means nothing to me".

Hopefully she knew it was a ploy to save her life.

What could Ben have done? Shoot the hostage in the leg?
