Note to thread starter - we are officially in the 21st century. They have things like eyeglasses, cups and telephones in most parts of the planet these days.

Of course they reused the same locals since they are reusing the exact same beaches from Palau, exact same location for production, etc.

Seems people are expecting some form of "noble savage" to represent the locals

I was just wondering this after last night's episode.

The first locals of the season, I SWEAR I remeber them from another season.

And the locals last night had stuff like modern glasses....

And they always know English, wouldn't they only know their local dialect or something?

China's locals only spoke a few phrases in English, JR had to talk to them in Mandarin for the most part.
