Let's say Jason finds the re-hidden HII this week. Since no one is allowed to steal the HII, could Jason plant the HII (say into James' belongings)and get someone kicked off for stealing? Also, since no one can steal the idol (or I guess hide it where the "owner" can't find it), then why do people hide the idol? Everybody knew (last week) that Ozzy had the idol so why was it still hidden?

and uhhh? Didn't Ozzy say in the actual episode right before TC that he would bring the idol with him to TC? That means the casual viewers believe he took the idol out with him. It's not back at camp in the "story" so therefore nobody will find it or use it in the "story"

Richard Hatch never brought his stuff with him to the tribal councils either.
But there was no Hidden Immunity Idol then and Hatch didn't like to wear clothes anyway!

Are Hidden Immunity Idols even a twist anymore? It's just a part of the game now - like having mactors and the shitty final 3.

It's officially in the idol rules that it can't be stolen.

It has to be given away by the person that found it or it isn't any good. Not sure what might have happened if Ozzy had brought it with him, not played it, if he could have handed it to Amanda on his way out. Maybe not, since technically he would already have been out of the game. Though he's not really out til Probst snuffs his torch. It's too bad he didn't have it in his bag & handed it to Amanda or James & then had his torch snuffed. Wonder if they could have...

Penner didn't wait til the reunion show for his hat. Yul gave it to him at the very next TC. He walked over & laid it where the jury sat. Probst even questioned him on trying to gain a vote by doing this & Yul denied it.

I can't believe people are actually speculating that the others can just go back to camp to get the Idol. Of course not. If you can't take it form someone's belongings while they're in the game you can't afterwards. While we don't know all the specifics we know the HII has to be formally transfered to someone like when Todd gave it to James. We don't SEE the formal transition but that's because it's irrelevant when X says they're giving it to Y on...
