You'd only get a widescreen picture if you're watching the HD feed. The regular network feed will still be in cropped 4:3 as beatles said.

I wouldn't count on it. In standard definition, CBS shows all their HD-shot shows in pan-and-scan.

DAMMIT!!! My dad just figured out our HD TV box doesn't send out a full HD picture. idk why. now i gotta stick with the crappy cable picture.

Planet earth was filmed in HD all over world they film from half mile away just like they were standing next to you so don't think location is a problem as much as you might think. Bug bite will be gross and so will zits. Good for Camel Toes tho.

I agree, I think we'll still have many more seasons of survivor. It still gets okay ratings and budget isn't much. As long as Probst keeps accepting to be on the show it'll go on. The day he says no, it would be tough... no one could do a better job than he does, and if someone does a good job it just wouldn't feel right watching a different host..

Should be incredible... I think CBS has always cared about Survivor, they know what it brings to the table and that's why it's stayed in that time slot for 16 seasons, 8 years. Les Moonves has stated that Survivor would go on beyond Mark Burnett if permitted, so... I've never doubted CBS's commitment to the series... What I have been upset with is the media's abandonment of the series.

The episodes we get in standard definition are great as is. High def is going to be way better, especially when they do colour correction which will make it more vibrant.

Yay! Hopefully this re-invention will turn out better that the re-invention Cook Islands was supposed to be. Although I sort of saw China as a re-invention.
