I was shocked that neither coronation song done last night completely sucked. Definitely a step up from the last few years. Neither were "Alive," but much more bearable than the past.

I'm curious as to how exactly Blake was going to rearrange the shitfest that was "This Is My Crap."

Beatboxing or a key change wouldn't fix the piss-poor lyrics. Rewriting the song or the melody would piss off the original songwriters and invalidate the contest.

Since everyone thinks the winner's singles are sappy pieces of shit I'd say anyone vs Archuleta would be at an advantage if they did anything even remotely different to it. Archuleta would sing it straight and be boring and the song would still be a cheesy piece of shit.

Even if they can rearrange the song (which would be good and it might have helped out Blake last year), there's still the problem of lyrics--all the songs in the competition have sappy lyrics; they're faux inspirational; and tend to be about depressed people who find self esteem. In other words, the lyrics are perfectly suited to a contestant like David Archuleta who's been doing faux inspirational almost every week. Jason is too stoned, laid back and comfortable in his own skin...

there is this one site I go on a lot, and the guy that wrote "In This Moment" is a huge supporter of it, so I guess that has to be my favorite one. All of the songs suck though, since all of them give out the same fucking message. I gave a 1 to all the songs Archtard could actually get away with sining.

I'm not really impressed with any of those songs. WTF is with all the piano songs? Are they Brooke fans or something? Overcome is ok. Align is different sounding than the others and I gave that song the highest score (a 6).
