I wouldn't call Vicepia unpopular amongst the jury members as much as I would say she (and Neleh) were seen as non-entities in the game. They both capitalized on the switch in the game that took down the dominant alliance. That move was made predominantly by Sean and Kathy...Neleh and Paschal were the last to see the light on that move...and Vecepia just went along with Sean.

Blasically, Vicepia as a winner was pretty much "whatever" by the jury and not so much...

Ethan was a happy, feel-good winner but no one was watching Survivor then -and Rachel was having Ross' baby on the resurance of Friends power post 9/11 -Africa was considered a joke with magazines giving it a who cares anymore vibe -pointing out Bryant Gumble nailed it when he mispronounced the winner's name -"Congratulations, Ethan Zorn."

Marquesas was the highly hyped Back to the Beach season and got people talking again- at least Kathy, Rob and Sean did. I...

Vee is the ONLY winner I am genuinely pissed that. She got dragged to the F2 and won because of the ANTI Nelehism, and not because of a gameplay. She's a fucking loser in my book!

I don't think Sandra pissed people off at all. No, she wasn't Jon, but she certainly wasn't Lill either. Lill winning would have REALLY pissed people off at the time. Hell, she was an outcast. I think most people were just relieved an outcast didn't win.

They were mourning the death of their alliance...I believe Jeff even calls them out at the end.

People weren't so pissed off that Vee won that they were upset Kathy or Paschal lost. Like Mario said, people were pretty much indifferent to Vee. Had Kathy won, nobody would have really complained about Vee being a religious hypocrite or anything like that. That all came after the show when people needed to find something about Vee worth...

From my unofficial recollection as Survivor historian, out of the first eight seasons, I would say that the winners who pissed the most people off (at the time) were probably:

1. Richard
2. Jenna
3. Amber
4. Vecepia

After rewatching the season I went and looked up some of the old articles about Marquesas from different sites and, man, I never realized how much Vee winning pissed people off. Has there ever been a winner of Survivor that made people mad as much as Vee?

Rob did make this season entertaining. I particularly liked when he called zoey out for lying in front of kathy. I must say while all of robs antics is entertaining; im still unsure of what his game plan was.. he could of won immunity but he was screwing around trying to splash water after jeffy dared him...seemed he could stayed in the game longer if he would kept more quite and kept his alliance with kathy on the dl; maybe, there is unseen footage or events that made this an impossibility...

I still don't get how Kathy is supposed to team up with Robert (or whomever) at final six r what it's supposed to accomplish. Why and how does she do this? Go to Neleh and Paschal and say she wants to have a partner? Or go to Vee and Sean with the same deal? Wouldn't the chance of them balking and asking why? As they should. And it would possible prompt the four of them to...

Which essentially meant that from a game standpoint, instead of having 2 allies and 5 enemies, she had 0 allies and 7 enemies. She wasn't winning the game either way, but the manner in which she played meant that she wouldn't even have a chance of cracking the 5 as the last member of a pagonged alliance (which probably would have been a smarter way to go about things for Kathy at F6), or going on an immunity run then. Instead it ensured that every single person in the game voted her...

Well I'm slowly going back through each season, just recently downloaded all of them and haven't really felt the need to discuss the first two (since they are widely available on DVD) or Africa (which I like a lot but feel it is tainted by the fallen comrades challenge). But I started Marquesas a season that Sucks love and a season which I realized I've forgotten the most about. There are all these little things in the first two episodes that I had no idea, or completely forgot...
