So even if the doctor hadn't of stitched him up, he still would have been taken out of the game.

How the hell would Jonathan know? He's a writer. My guess is that the doctor treated it as a laceration rather than a puncture wound. Remember, there was no clear statement as to what actually happened. Looks to be 3-4 cm, that's a BIG puncture wound.

Where did she get her degree- some Caribbean medical school? Mexico? Is she a chiropractor?
I never would have sent Jonathan to the hospital unless he had 1) a temperature, or 2)and elevated white count.
I bet he didn't have either.
At surgery, I bet they got out...NOTHING AT ALL!
Jonathan had a traumatic injury, sure, but he didn't stay off his feet. All that swelling was the result of venous stasis and a normal physiologic reaction to crushed...
