I think one reason it's coming across differently is the Returning Players aspect. Twice before we've had returning players, but once the whole cast was returning, and the other time, they just made it The Steph Show (but also edited differently than usual). Now, they can't quite make it all-stars, but there are more than two Faves to focus on...and the tribes are segregated...so I think they're wanting to edit the Fans/Faves differently, then try not to, but the whole thing...

I dunno about you guys, but this season feels completely unpredictable right now. It's certainly a lot more tense than China was at episode two.

I believe it was more "who gets to feel up Mary first" kind of deal.

I think it was because the episode did not really focus on one single person or group even though the strategizing on Airai was interesting to see. Stupid, but interesting. It was a mixed bag of scenes mostly. The horrid showmance alliance. Cirie and Kathleen swimming up and down and Cirie being her usual funny charming self. Mikey and Joel competing to see who's the biggest overstrategizer. But whatever the case, it was still a very entertaining episode.

i'm actually surprised at how stupid the "fans" have been. if you're a fan wouldn't you know you need a goddam shelter? and both tribes seem to be strategizing way too early. seems to me you should try to keep your tribe as strong as possible until the merge and then start getting rid of "threats."

I wish they would do a lot more combined RC/ICs at the beginning. I don't give a shit which tribe wins tarps after building a like-sized sculpture of Jeff Probst with toothpicks, I'd rather spend more time with Kathy and Mary Faketits.

There was just so much drama and stuff going down I think they just lingered on things longer than usual...feels like Survivor to me...and I agree, we needed this epi to get a lil better grasp on dynamics.

There was that weird sequence with Joel and that Leif Garret dude and a chick (I suck at the names, I admit it freely) where it was in black and white, as though they were trying to say it was filmed at night, and then BANG! it was in full colour and in daylight.

That threw me for a second because it messed up my sense of timing.

But, yeah, the editing is way different this season. I kinda like it because there are so many of them and TPTB are trying to spread the air time...

I think the edit is more balanced than usual. People who were shown a lot before were not as much and vice versa. Not for everyone but it was better
