I love this show. I am a huge fan of Bourdain, but for different reasons. I think Bourdain is more serious about the idea behind food and he is just damn hot.
Zimmern is just that kid that you could give a $1 and he would eat a bunch of smashed up food in Middle School. The foods he eats are shiteous. I think Alaska may have had some of the worst food, right along with Iceland.

I don't know how he does it! One episode he went out with a family looking for grubs which they cooked and he was the most gracious host. This was a special dinner for a family who had little to give but he was so polite! I like that about him. There's been only one episode where he refused to drink this green stuff and left the restaurant.

I had only seen a few episodes of this show before (it's really more of a there's-nothing-else-on-and-you-stumble-across-it show than something I make a point of watching, even though I do like it) but there's a marathon on and I'm randomly watching it.

He's eating sea slug innards in Samoa and he was basically like "this fucking sucks!" to the old Samoan lady who gave it to him. It was kinda sad but also hilarious because I've never seen him not...

I want to see the St. Petersburg episode. I've always wanted to try some authentic kvas, since Coca-Cola bought up all the kvas bottling plants after the cold war and ruined it.

I firmly believe they have invented an esophageal microphone which is implanted in Andrew's throat to capture every subtle nuance of the gulping, chomping, chewing, swallowing sounds. The audio track is more nauseating than most of the food items he consumes. It's quite unnecessary.

Still, the show is well-done and interesting, focusing not only on the food but local culture and vibrant personalities.

Last week my DVR caught "Bizarre Unmasking an aspect of dining out that will make you think twice before ordering off the menu, and utilizing his knowledge of all things edible, Andrew Zimmern is on a quest to find the world's most bizarre foods.
