Just started The Memory of Running by Ron McLarty. I tried to read the Pat Tillman book, but I kept falling asleep during the first couple of chapters about Afghanistan and it was way overdue at the library. I'll try again when I'm in a better frame of mind.

I am reading Night Work by Thomas Glavinic. I wouldn't recommend it. Pretty much the same thing over and over. I am only finishing it because I am curious to see how it ends.

Just finished "The Help" - incredibly good and then "The Time Traveler's Wife" really good too. Still on the wait list at the library for the new Stephen King and Marian Keyes books.

Just finished Cormac McCarthy's Border Trilogy which was OK

still part way through both Neil Stephenson's Anathem and Erickson's Toll the Hounds, but took a break for book one of the Iron Elves Trilogy by Chris Evans

Just started The Children's Book by AS Byatt. About 100 pages in. Pretty good so far. Typical Byatt. And Stones Into Schools by Greg Mortenson, which is also good, but I don't recommend seeing the guy at any of his speaking engagements. Pretty much just recaps a lot that's in the books and shows some slides.

I'm half way through "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. It was tough getting started but the story is growing on me.

She's hit or miss, that's for sure. There's a few I've enjoyed, and a few I haven't been able to get through. Handle with Care was pretty good, though.

Homer and Langley is kind of meh.

I agree SG but its also interesting most of the male characters hate women as well. And the main character becomes the savior.

Yes, it makes me wonder what this Larsson guy was like before he kicked the bucket.
