Yeah, that's a pretty good analogy. It's a red state/blue state thing. NASCAR doesn't tend to fly very well in small (but well populated) parts of the country.

It's not that he's blue collar, I think it's more that he's sort of rural. There are huge chunks of America who want nothing to do with a guy who loves Nascar or would have his wedding at a Nascar event. That's what has always worked against him.

By any chance do you think people hate Chris because he is considered to be a blue-collar winner? If I am not mistaken, white-collar or affluent winners are usually the most popular (Tina and Tom anyone?).

Chris doesn't work construction. He's actually a site inspector for the state of Ohio. He told me he was always kind of annoyed that CBS always referred to him as "in construction." He said it was misleading.

And yes, Bubba was the security guard at Walmart. Sunsawed is apparently a pathological liar too. :-P

As a cast, I think Vanuata didn't really have a person you should really root against. I like prettty much the whole cast. But then there wasn't anyone else to root FOR.

You would have noticed Amber's "oh my gawwwwwd" refrain if you had been watching the show back in 2001. That was one of the most popular things we made fun of here at Survivor Sucks. For numerous reasons, Amber was always a target of much mockery around here.
